I think a dog’s temperament can vary so much, it’s hard to tell what you’ll get when you get a puppy. My teens convinced me to get a new puppy 1.5yrs ago. My one condition was-NO SHEDDING. They wanted a golden retriever so we settled on a golden doodle. She had ALOT of energy the first year, but she was a very quick learner. We used bell training for housebreaking and she had it down in 3 days. She has since bonded with me more than anyone and is my partner and always by my side. Once she passed the 1 year birthday, she mellowed so much and is such a content, chill dog. Couldn’t ask for better.
I had a lhasapoo (Lhasa - apso/ poodle mix ) and now have a whoodle (soft coated Wheaton terrier/poodle mix). Both are incredibly loving, smart and easily trained. Haven’t had any problems with kids. They love their owners whole heartedly.
